GHANET, Stop TB Ghana to build TB/HIV synergy
30 March

The National Coordinator, Stop TB Ghana Chief Austin Arinze Obiefuna today called on the Ghana HIV/ AIDS Network (GHANET) to redefine their advocacy approach and make it TB inclusive.

The National coordinator also lamented on the poor communication level which happens to be one the partnership challenges. In his presentation he called for sustainable partnership with GHANET in fighting the present TB-HIV pandemic in the country by commending the group on their previous successful AIDS awareness campaign.

Chief Austin said that TB/HIV is like petrol and matches and you cannot talk about HIV without mentioning TB. He said that the former President of South Africa had TB and he was cured. The former President said “we cannot win the battle against AIDS if we do not also fight TB. TB is too often a death sentence for people with AIDS.

The vice chairman GHANET Accra, Edem John Hini commended the initiative and also asked for collaboration to echo each other.
