04-1-07
A one day briefing was held for the two lead traditional rulers to sensitize them on TB prevention and cure so that they will in turn sensitize other traditional rulers in the central region. The involvement of traditional rulers became apparent in two dimensions-it is in conformity with the provisions of the millennium development goals and also the fact that they perform as liaisons between the people and the outside community.
The briefing was held on 4th January 2007 at National Tuberculosis Programme conference room under the auspices of stop TB Ghana partnership. It was chaired by Dr.Nicholas Deheer with the opening prayer by Dr. Nora Bonsu-Bruce.

There were other contributions from other doctors present. These include Dr. Kwesi Addo, Dr. Hanson Nortey, Chief Austin Obiefuna and Felix Afutu.
The briefing was concluded with some key messages formulated as a source of motivation to the chiefs to relay to their people when they get back. The chiefs in response thanked the stop TB partnership and the national TB programme.
